The S-CER 2024 closed this year in Cordoba with the Rallye de Tierra Ciudad de Pozoblanco. And our team was there with three vehicles in the competition: Joan Vinyes-Jordi Mercader with the Hyundai i20N Rally2; Esteban Vallín-Irene Caso with the Suzuki Swift Rally5-kit; and arriving from the Canary Islands Virginia de León-Gema Sánchez with the Skoda Fabia N3.
Vinyes and Mercader came to close the championship with a good result after an irregular season and not attending the previous two events. And in fact they did it, getting into the fight for the top positions of the CERT-Rallycar, obtaining a sixth position overall.
For Vallín-Caso, it was their debut on gravel with the Swift Rally5-Kit, and it had some youthful problems with its electronics due to the water that was present in some sections. But once the problems were solved, the objective was achieved and they were proclaimed CHAMPIONS of the Super Cup of Spain in Category 3 (this category includes Rally5, Rally5-kit and N3 cars).
The women’s team had worse luck, having a run off the track at the start of the rally, which did not allow them to reach the finish line.
