In their second event with the Hyundai i20N Rally2, the Rallye Tierras Altas de Lorca, Javier Pardo and Adrián Pérez have achieved their first victory in the S-CER 2023, which also puts them at the top of the championship.
After the fifth position achieved in the first round of the championship, the Rallye Sierra Morena, the team has arrived with a good work previous to the rallye, with kilometres of tests to gain confidence and to get to know the car better. And this has helped them to run with a great pace that has allowed them to achieve their first victory.
From the start of the rally, consistency and consistency have been key to build the result. Only a shock on the second pass of the long section where he went straight at a junction, and then a tree branch broke his windscreen, put emotion to the result. But the team reacted by changing the windscreen at the regrouping and Javier kept his position in the final two stages.
The MRF tyres have been very important in the result and Javier was happy at the end: “Very happy for the first victory in the S-CER and even more if it helps us to arrive as leaders in the Canary Islands. The whole team has done a very good job, the car behaved very well and so did the tyres, which in a very hard terrain held up and gave me very good performance. This result is for all those sponsors who support me to be here”.
The great result of the Rallycar team also includes the performance of Joan Vinyes-Jordi Mercader, who after an initial scare in the first kilometre of the first section, have returned to the track to set some remarkable times and reach the seventh final position, which gives them some important points for their goal in the CERT.
The next round of the event on gravel will be the Rallye de Pozoblanco, where both members of the team will take part once again. But before that, the Rallye Islas Canarias, also scoring for the ERC, will be the new asphalt event for Javier and Adrián.
